How to Turn Your Old Furniture Into a Conversation Piece and Impress Your Friends

Duality

This is one of those rare projects that happens when you get stuck in a rut.  Sometimes you work so much that everything starts to blur together and you have to get off the beaten path and make something completely crazy.  So it happened one night when Kim turned to me and said:

“Let’s paint the couch.”

“Sure”

We started out by sketching our designs directly onto the couch with Sharpie pens and gradually filling in the color until we had a good sense of what we were looking at.  After that it was a matter of going back in with paint pens and doing some highlighting.  We put in approximately 16 hours and are quite pleased with the end result.  It has this great tattoo quality to it and combines all of our recent imagery and shows off a lot of the personal touches that we put into our own artwork.  It’s really going to tie together our booth displays at the upcoming show.
